Hello, I'm
Lucy Aspinall
I work brilliantly together with …

people who give a shit about more than the bottom line, are driven to make the world a better place for oppressed folk and want to raise people up.

Other creatives or folk that appreciate creativity.

Those who are understanding/appreciative of different personality types (introvert here) and are happy to work together to formulate working practices that suit and benefit everyone.

My masking tends to make me quite adaptive with lots of different types of people, although I'm very sensitive to vibes people give off so if you aren't particularly friendly/too aloof, we might not gel too well.

People often say I’m brilliant at …

being a calming influence. I'm not sure why though—my brain often feels like there's a hyped up squirrel having a rave in there!

I'm known in the workplace for being really organised (this doesn't always translate to my home life!), a bit witty and weird 🫠. I've been called a sponge on numerous occasions as I tend to soak up knowledge very quickly.

The basics you should know about me are ...

I love supporting small business and creative agency owners with their marketing tasks, giving them a little more headspace to focus on client-facing work.

I work from my home in a weird little village in Kent with my labrador, Ted, for company (think Center Parcs meets The Wicker Man).

I'm often around day-to-day but take extra time away from my screen to make the most of school holidays while my son is still at primary school. Flexibility is king for this freelancer 💁🏼‍♀️.

If personality types are you're thing, I'm INFJ!

The channels I prefer to communicate via are ...

I don't *love* phone or video calls unless a rapport has already been established so initially I prefer emails or LinkedIn messages.

Help me to respect the boundaries I'm setting working from home by ...

understanding I might read and run. If you're contacting me via a DM I may well read it in the moment (I *absolutely hate* unread notifications) but not respond because I'm engaged in something else or not working. I'm not ignoring you, just banking your message ready for a response at a later time.

Remember: I have an emotional interest in the work I do for my clients, and their businesses BUT my family needs have to come first. This is why I always let people I work with know that my life is very different during the school holidays, and I adapt my working practices around that.

Beyond work, I’m really passionate about ...

being cosy at home! I am a real home bird who loves their own space. But I'm also a big rock and metal fan and love supporting great bands at our local live music venue.

I LOVE: a walk out in the woods, a good film and a glass of malbec.

If the stars align you might see me sat with friends once again forgetting how to play out a battle for DND and I am hugely passionate about LGBTQIA+, and specifically trans rights. I was a doula in a previous life so I care a lot about reproductive, pregnancy and birthing rights too ✊

The things which prevent me from doing my best are …

crippling Imposter Syndrome/RSD, a dislike for people and some undiagnosed neurodivergence. My brain has a lot to answer for!

When I'm dealing with stress, I ...

I tend to go a little quiet and live inside my brain. Think *silent panic* that often manifests itself in physical ways.

It also means I will have numerous lists on the go and can sometimes be a little short with my words–apologies if my mask has slipped!

An enforced tea break, a reminder to breathe and an ear to help reprioritise is usually appreciated.

My best working patterns look like ...

You can often find me at my desk at 8, but other times not until 10. I work flexibly to suit my family's, and clients, needs.

I try not to work at weekends!
